It’s that time of year. The holidays are over and you’re exhausted. Events in December and January may have included, but are not limited to: over eating, receiving weird Christmas gifts that inevitably end up at a thrift store, lounging on a couch for days on end, driven to the brink of madness by family (even if you love them this is a natural occurrence), parties and wondering what you’re doing with your life.
But then it happens, the post holiday second wind and then the new years resolutions are spilling out of you at great speeds! You’re ready to embrace the new year, set some goals, and are enthusiastic about getting to the end results. That’s what’s happening around here this new year and it feels amazing. Upon contemplating what to do with our lives at Willow Springs for 2016, we have decided our future holds cleaning, purging, and organizing.
There has been a flurry of cleaning and organizing out at our centre. We’ve had an awesome cleaning crew the past couple of weeks. What have we done all you organized, de-cluttering folks might be wondering? Well, the front room and basement have been torn apart, flipped upside down and reassembled in an organized fashion. Kitchen walls have been washed, floors have been mopped, weird ancient items have been tossed. There are no words to express the amount of joy felt when Judi walked in with a NEW VACUUM! Never in my entire life did I think my eyes would light up at such a purchase.
We’re on an unstoppable mission to get the centre organized this winter. The next projects are the laundry room and office. But don’t to fret! Our new mission statement is NOT “To promote growth through cleaning, purging, and organizing”. We won’t be running weekend workshops on how to get rid of long forgotten items shoved to the back of your closest or how to vacuum under counters. We’ll be switching gears next week to start up our Soup and Bread (and more!) Extravaganza and we’re looking forward to working with the Souper Hero Team.
So if you’re in the neighbourhood come check out the front room and basement. And, be sure to ask to see our NEW VACUUM!
